World's most sustainable building uses sophisticated heat pump based HVAC system

Amsterdam can claim to have the world's most sustainable office building: the Edge. The building was given the rating 'outstanding' and received the highest score ever recorded by the Building Research Establishment, namely: 98.36 percent.

This score was made possible by a smart combination of renewable energy generation and innovative energy efficiency measures. The building is both heated and cooled through the aquifer thermal energy storage system with heat pumps.
